If fishing, hiking, and camping are the main reasons you come up to the northwoods then you have come to the right place. The best of all three of these vacation pasttimes are right here in Covington or only minutes away, which is why this area is such a hot spot for tourist and "camp" owners.
Within a short stretch you will find Canyon Falls, Agate Falls, and Bond Falls. The area lakes for fishing/and or camping include Norway, Big Lake, Lake Saint Kathryn, Perch River and Vermillac; not to mention only 15 miles away is Lake Superior.
The Covington area can definitely serve as your home base while you investigate all that the outdoors has to offer. For the shopper there are shops and art galleries within easy and economical driving distance in Baraga County.
Local tourist attractions include the Covington Township Historic Museum only one block from the artist market. The museum is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m.
