Community Womens Group Inc. of Covington, Michigan has four main goals - economic opportunity, enrichment, outreach, and beautification in our community and surrounding area. With a generous donation from the Covington Learning Center board, the CWG was able to begin several ongoing community projects including flower barrels, deliveries to shut-ins, Christmas caroling, and welcome baskets. Classes have featured the late Carla Emery, a feedsack presentation with quilter and collector Elle Ryan, and fiber artist Carol Kreher. We recently began community food pantry which is open the fourth Wednesday of the month from 12PM - 3PM.
Our most ambitious project is the U.P. Made Artist Market which is open from early May through September. All profits from the market go back into our community and support a number of outreach programs and local community organizations.
